I have recently realized that I am quite the little media consumer. Borrowing the iPad from work doesn’t help my cause, either. I have turned into a tech feed addict, always making sure I don’t miss the latest Mashable, Engadget, Gizmodo, or MacRumors post. I’m consuming far more than I’m creating. Time to tip the scales.
Here’s a pic I snapped while walking our dog after dinner the other night. My husband has been teasing me about my cloud photos lately, as that seems to be the subject I’ve been snapping the most. I defended my kabillion cloud pics by saying, “Hey, it’s monsoon season! The rest of the year there’s hardly a cloud in the sky!”
But it’s a start. I need to take at least half the time I use consuming and turn it into creating. Doesn’t matter what it is, as long as I’m producing content. iPhone app, blog posts, photos, video editing, maybe even tracking a few songs in Garage Band. A little less Jabba-the-Hut-style gorging on RSS feeds and a little more creative time.
That new Mashable post can probably wait. Even the daily New York Times crossword. (Hmm… well maybe not that).
